Ascent Moving Forward Groups help women and girls who have experienced or are at risk of gendered violence move forward positively with their lives.
This series of eight workshops provides a space to talk, listen and be heard in an emotionally supportive and safe environment.
Group work gives you an opportunity to share experiences and information with other survivors, and explore and understand the impact of gendered violence. You will also use practical exercises to help create healthy boundaries and relationships, and improve self-care.
The service is part of the London VAWG Consortium.
This has been life changing for me. I still have a way to go but there’s been a ‘light bulb’ moment almost every week and I’m finally beginning to truly understand how my abuse has impacted me in real terms, and that alone is an important step in my escape from it. The facilitator has shown such wonderful insight, compassion and understanding.
WGN are committed to protecting and ensuring the wellbeing of women engaging with our services, that’s why in 2020 we adapted our Moving Forward Group Programme to enable online access for survivors.
Following the successful delivery of our first rounds of online groups, we will continue to offer a number of groups each term and are currently open for referrals.
Moving Forward is available to women who are in a position to access the group securely online in a confidential space in their own homes via a smart phone, tablet or computer/laptop device.
