I Am Ready – Reviewing Historical Child Sexual Abuse Cases

I Am Ready is a new national initiative designed to support survivors of child sexual abuse and exploitation who may wish to revisit previously reported experiences and explore the possibility of having their police case reviewed.

Developed with input from survivors, the initiative recognises that coming forward or revisiting past experiences can be difficult, particularly for those who may not have received the response, support or outcome they needed at the time.

Through the I Am Ready website, survivors can access clear information about the review process, understand what it may involve and consider whether taking this step feels right for them.

The initiative places an emphasis on survivor choice, ensuring that individuals can explore their options at their own pace, without pressure or obligation to proceed.

At Women and Girls Network (WGN), we recognise that every survivor’s journey is different. We welcome initiatives that aim to improve access to information, strengthen survivor choice and provide opportunities for survivors to have their voices heard.
